Project Overview
This kitchen remodel in Charlotte, NC transformed a closed-off, outdated space into a modern open-concept layout designed for both everyday living and entertaining. Brigmon’s Construction reworked the kitchen and adjoining living room to create a seamless, functional flow throughout the home.
The Existing Space
Prior to the renovation, the kitchen was separated from the living room by a load-bearing wall, limiting both space and natural flow. The layout felt confined, and the finishes and fixtures were outdated, making the area less functional for modern use.
The Challenge
- Closed-off kitchen with limited usable space
- Load-bearing wall restricting layout options
- Poor connection between kitchen and living room
- Outdated materials and finishes
Opening the space while maintaining structural integrity required careful planning and precision execution.
The Solution
Brigmon’s Construction completed a full gut renovation of the kitchen and reimagined the layout to create an open-concept design. The load-bearing wall between the kitchen and living room was safely removed, with proper structural support installed to maintain the home’s integrity.
The kitchen was extended to increase functionality and improve flow. New flooring was installed throughout both spaces to unify the design, while the kitchen was fully rebuilt with new cabinetry, countertops, and modern appliances.
Additional upgrades included electrical work to support the new layout and fresh paint throughout the kitchen and living room to complete the transformation.
